Located at the Otto G. Richter Library in the heart of the Coral Gables campus, the Kislak Center at the University of Miami offers a scholarly space for research. In addition to the Kislak Collection, the center houses the extensive holdings of UM Libraries Special Collections and University Archives. The great hall also provides a welcoming venue for lectures, debates, conferences, workshops, concerts, plays and other university and community events.  The 7,000 sqft space was completely demolished and rebuilt with state of the art lighting / audio / video capabilities, existing terrazzo was preserved and beautifully restored, a custom Woodworks Armstrong ceiling was installed, custom museum quality display casework was brought in from Germany and acoustical elements were added.  The entire Richter Library remained functioning for students and staff while this project occurred.
